Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Ok so I want to know if I'm able to sue Sony? Heres what my problem is. Sony has a system called the PlayStation 3 and it has online capabilities giving you a user name and your also able to make purchases from there online "PSN" store and your account can only be "activated" up to 5 times that basically means that your able to use your account to up to 5 different systems if you wanted to being able to download all the online content from the store like games, themes, add ons ect. Ok so when I bought my first ps3 system it cost me 499.99 plus CA tax and it lasted me a year and a half I believe and it broke down on me. So I called Sony the next day to see how it can be resolved and they told me I was out of warranty so I had to pay them to fix it so I payed them about 180$ for them to fix it AND I told them to specifically to DEACATIVE all accounts I had on there (I had about 5 separate accounts on it my friends and I shared our content) and the phone representative said NO PROBLEM we will deactivate it for you. So what Sony did is that they sent me a refurbished model and me thinking that they deactivated my ps3 that I sent them I put all the accounts I had before including my friends accounts on my on my new ps3 so about a couple months later that ps3 broke and I was fed up and I just bought a newer more recent model ps3 model and it cost me about 399.99 plus and when I was about to activate the accounts on the new ps3 I should of had one more out of the five activations on the accounts so what I thought is that they NEVER deactivated the accounts. What I basically want to do is get reimbursed by Sony of all the money I spent and emotional distress and I want them to refresh the 5 accounts I had on my ps3s to go back to 5 activations seems fair right? I'm not suing them for a fortune just 2200$ and for them to reset the accounts. Do I have a strong case?
P.s all this was typed on my mobile phone
