collection on a phone bill

on 10/29/07 a creditor called me saying i owe a phone bill that is $800.00 back in 1999 on a old # that I have not had forever.I have never heard i owed this bill till now 8 yrs later.has statue of limatations run out.

If they call again, tell them the statute has run and it's uncollectable. If they insist on calling you again, get their address and send them a certified letter with the same information. Then, if they continue to do so, contact an attorney about their violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
