Can a Vehicle that is paid for be repossed by a creditor who is owed money and started collection proceedings

If a creditor (not a lien holder such as an auto finance co.) sues you and wins, theoretically they can have the sheriff seize and auction your auto. But most creditors won't, the process is costly and the outcome of an auction is uncertain..
