Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Dismissal without prejudice in a consumer collection case

The Superior Court of California -

Contra Costa County ''Dismissed

Without Prejudice'' the consumer

credit collections case against me on

4.29.08.

I know that this means that it is still

possible for another law suit to be

filed regarding this same matter in

the future, but is there a statute of

limitations set?

And if California law states that after

4 years I can not be sued for debt

collection, does the courts ruling

affect this 4 year limit?

THANKS!

Re: Dismissal without prejudice in a consumer collection case

Congratulations on prevaiing in your case. The time during which the case was pending tolls the statute. See a consumer collections attorney near you about possible lawsuits for malicious prosecution / FDCPA violations.
