What is the California Code Section on Statute of Limitations on for collecting a consumer debts?

It is two years on an oral contract from the date of the breach and four years on a written contract. This is generally the law. There may be exceptions such as the contract limiting the statute of limitations.

Most consumer debts are going to be based on a written agreement, so the statute of limitations is 4 years. See Code of Civil Procedure Section 337.
