Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I am being sued by a law office working behalf of a loan company. They served a minor in my home with the papers? Is this legal? Is there something I can do? I had been called by the original company and set up payment arrangement that same day. What should I do? Attend the court date or go along with the payment arrangements with the original company?

They're supposed to leave the summons with a member of your household who's at least 18. So, you might have grounds to dispute service with them. You would have to file a motion to quash service. Or, file an Answer to the Complaint (which you have 30 days to file). If this is a summons, there is no "court date" set unless it's a small-claims case.
