Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Help

About a year ago I was harrassed by the employees of a Lady Fitness Gym. The gym provides childcare while you exercise. My son was crying. The woman providing the actual care was fine but the other employees decided it would be a good idea to take me in the back room and bash my parenting abilities. These psychotic women were literally surrounding me yelling while I was holding my baby and would not let me out of this room. My husband was waiting outside for me and when I didn't come he came inside to find me. He found me being bullied by these demented Lady Fitness employees and came to my rescue. They tried to corner him and were shouting about how awful I was abandoning my child but being the military man that he is he quickly silenced them and got us out of there. When I finally tracked down the owner she agreed to let me out of the contract but only if I gave it another shot and led me to believe they were fired. They werent now they sent my case to collections. What can I do???

This is an interesting twist on the all-too-usual I-didn't-read-my-health-club-contract case. Write to the collection agency to go pound sand, and defend any lawsuits. Consider suing for false imprisonment, watch out for legal time limuts (usually 2 years)! Don't Do Stuff Verbally: Next time get any promises in writing.
