Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
500,000 bail can we request to lower it on preliminary hearing

As a Former Deputy District Attorney and a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, I would be more concerned with making sure he has excellent representation. Bail of 500,000 is extremely high, and most judges won't reduce the bail without sufficient cause. Also, there must be "changed circumstances" before a judge will reduce the bail. You really should be speaking to his lawyer or obtaining one. I wish you well..............David
Of course. Ask away anytime you like. Whether you get it depends upon convincing the judge to do so for good cause.
If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help fight and get the best outcome possible, using whatever defenses and sympathies there may be.
