Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

In 2006 I was convicted of transporting Marijuana and possession in Arizona. I am 53 years old married with three children. My middle child is 11 years old and suffered a heart attack and is in the hospital now awaiting a heart transplant. Wth this conviction on my background, I cannot find a job to provide for my family. Is there any way I can get this conviction expunged or sealed. I know there is another option that is based on me staying out of trouble with the law which I have, but I cannot remember the name. I would just like to know if I have options to clear my record.

If you never went to Prison, behind that case, you are eligable for expungemnet (in California..do not know if Arizona laws are the same) and then you should attempt to get a Certificate of Rehabilitation. If a court grants that motion, that acts as the initial request for a Governor's Pardon. That is the road I would advise you to take to attempt to clean up your record. I wish you well and I will pray for your 11 year old child that Jesus will bring complete healing........David Wallin

Repost in the category for Arizona. California does not have jurisdiction to expunge a conviction in another state.

Maybe. California convictions can be expunged. You'll have to check with an Arizona attorney about their laws.
