Your son definitely needs an experienced criminal defense attorney, if he doesn't have one, get him one immediately. If he were to be convicted, each misdemeanor carries up to one year in jail, and each felony carries one or more years in prison. His attorney will have to analyze the pleadings, evidence and facts to see what defenses he has available to him. The attorney's job is to either take the case[s] to trial if he believes he has a reasonable chance of success, or alternatively, to negotiate the best 'plea deal' he can get to minimize the 'time' your son faces. Feel free to contact me at 714-960-7584 to get him that help. My practice covers most of SoCal courts.
