Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I am a 16 years old girl and I would like to obtain a self defense weapon. I live in the state of California and it seems that everything is illegal. I am thinking of buying a collapsible baton or a taser. Is there any ways I can make carrying any of these legal? I have no intentions of harming people with it but to keep it in case of attackers. I am small and I think a self defense weapon is necessary.

Check with your local retailer about stun gun purchase at your age, or investigate sellers rules on purchase on the web. Most other weapons will be outlawed for minors.

Supplement:

I checked and it appears that sale of stun guns to minors is illegal in CA, and that retractable batons are illegal for anyone but law enforcement.

Your legal options are quite limited until you turn 18.
