Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I'm 19 yrs old. I was arrested a little over a month ago for being under the influence of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). I was not driving, I was a passenger. This is my first arrest/offense. What sentencing should I possibly expect?

The first thing you should do is get a lawyer. If you can't afford to hire one, you should ask for a public defender on your first court date. Your lawyer will know enough about the facts to tell you what sort of punishment you might face. Perhaps more importantly, she may be able to negotiate a deal with the prosecutor under which you would plead guilty or no contest to a lesser charge. Depending upon the facts, she may even be able to beat the charges at trial or get the prosecutor to drop the case before it reaches that point.
Good luck.
