Is it allowed and where can you target shoot crossbows in California?

What is statute for or against it?

This is for a Renaissance re-creation and educational group (501(c)3) to target shoot.

Allowed? Of course. Call your nearest archery dealer; most have a range, and would be able to tell you local city/county/state rules applicable to their area. The owner of the land you use will set the rules, whether public or private land. Common sense safety is the issue.
