If you were supposed to go to court at the time, then you now have a warrant out for your arrest. Warrants are forever. Any time you come in contact with police or security agents anywhere in the US you risk arrest and transport to the court. You should handle this now by hiring an attorney to go to that court and represent you. Since it is a misdemeanor crime, he can do so without you having to be in court with him. If you get serious about doing this, and the case is in Southern California, feel free to contact me.

Yes, almost without a doubt there is a bench warrant out on you in California. If you were to get pulled over, you would be taken into custody and taken to court which issued the warrant.

The best way to deal with this issue is to hire a private lawyer.

Warrants do not expire. Sooner or later, this is bound to catch up with you.

To answer your question more fully, if you were to cross the border into the U.S. the border patrol people would see the warrant and would take you in.

A lawyer might be able to resolve the warrant issue for you.
