Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Appeal

Greetings: I have a situation that has all but destroyed me. I have been a licensed Private Investigator for almost 10 years. I had a situation to where I was charged and convicted of CPC 12020 A (weapons) The situation is this: I am exempt to this section (CPC 12031 D (3) and had one wrong issue go bad after another. I need to appeal this conviction and need to hear from counsel somewhere as to what my first step should be.
