Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
What is the approximate jail time he will do?
Hello I am very worried and I hope you can help me by answering my question. My father got arrested after our house got searched. They left me a copy of the ''property receipt'' of the things that were found and taken (2 cell phones, Bereta Shot gun, and a Winchester riffle). My dad had been arrested in the past, sentenced, and he did his time in jail and later on he did some time in house arrest. This 2nd time that he got arrested they booked him for three charges (HS11352, PC182(A)(1),HS11370(A).. They found NO DRUGS in the house nor on his person an he is being charged of possession. We are very confused!. Recently he had his first court and they added several other charges, accordind to the D.A he now has the 3 aforementioned charges and also PC1203.07, PC12021, PC12360, and PC1275. I would like to know how serious these charges are and if found guilty what is the likely outcome?
Thank you for your time.

There are serious charges indeed. Potentially, your dad could end up in state prison. It is absolutely impossible to give you a more meaningful advice without knowing more facts. Factors which usually matter in evaluating likely outcome include, among other things, the strength of evidence against defendant, whether evidence was obtained illegally and therefore could be suppressed, prior record, where the case is being litigated, disposition of the judge and the DA and how good your lawyer is.
I recommend you make some calls to at least a couple of attorneys to discuss your case confidentially and in depth.

The possession of a firearm by a convicted felony carries up to 3 years in state prison alone. The drug charges, depending on how they're alleged, can also carry several years in prison.
For an exact calculation of his maximum possible sentence, I would need to see the charging document.
As to what's going to happen to him - that's another story. You say they didn't find any drugs, but he's being charged with drug offenses? Obviously, that needs to be explored, along with any search warrant issues and other defenses he may have.
He needs a good attorney.

If convicted, substantial prison time. How much depends on what he is convicted of. Some carry mandatory time. Get him an attorney now. If this is in SoCal, and you're serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
