I'm sorry you are dealing with this serious issue. As someone who has handled these types of cases for about 25 years, just know that you will get through this. As a Former Deputy District Attorney, I have been on both sides of these issues and I know you will get through this, and hopefully you will learn what you must so you won't find yourself in this situation ever again. The first thing you should do is get together with a highly trained criminal defense attorney and you and that lawyer will get you through this. Get into an attorney's office tomorrow. I wish you the very best. And know there is hope of a good resolution and a life after this case........David Wallin

You clearly need to hire an experienced attorney to represent you in the criminal case.

If you don't know how to represent yourself effectively against an experienced prosecutor intending to convict, then hire an attorney who does, who will try to get a dismissal, charge reduction, diversion, programs, or other decent outcome through motions, plea bargain, or take it to trial if appropriate. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help fight and get the best outcome possible, using whatever defenses and sympathies there may be.

If you can't afford private counsel, apply for the Public Defender at your first court appearance.
