Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

arrest warrant

i have an arrest warrant issued, I got the letter stating that a few weeks ago to my old address, I do not have a clue what it might be about, I want to know what is it about but I am scared to go to the clerks office and get arrested, is there any other way I can find out why was it issued without me having to go the clerks office, I want to know if I need an attorney.

Re: arrest warrant

Whatever it is about, it isn't going to go away by ignoring it. Unless you intend to play lawyer yourself as a pro per [unwise], you should hire an attorney to deal with this. Yes, you risk arrest at the court if you go yourself. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting the legal help you'll need to defend this.

Re: arrest warrant

It is always advisable to hire a lawyer in this situation. Alternatively, you could call the clerk and find out what charges you are facing. It is also possible to call the DA's office to find out although this is more risky as you might be tempted to discuss your case which under no circumstances you should do without a lawyer.

Re: arrest warrant

You can call the court clerk, but it would be more advisable to hire an attorney to handle this matter.
