Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Arrest warrents and First time offences

I have a friend that has an arrest warrent for a credit fraud I think. I would like to know how long can an arrest warrent last? Second, he has absolutely no felonies, or any criminal background aside from a couple traffic tickets. What are his chances on getting a low sentence or a fine plus restitution or will they convict him to the full extent of the law? He does not live in the state its originally from could they expidite him for it also? I would hate to see him lose all he has for something so stupid. Please help, I want to steer him in the right path where he can still have his life and family.

Warrants are forever. Unless he deals with the problem, he faces arrest and transport to the court where the charges are. That means he needs to go to court and go through the process. If he wants to have an attorney help him hankle it and minimize the penalties, and it is in Southern Calif, have him contact me.
