Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was arrested on a completely false charge. It was a DA reject. Now I have my car in impound. Can they wave fees since the case was dismissed

They can, but I doubt that they will. The D.A.'s decision not to prosecute does not mean you were wrongfully arrested or falsely accused. Unless the police or the prosecutor believe they had no reasonable grounds for the arrest, I see no reason why they would agree to cover your impound fees.

Unfortunately, I agree with Attorney Hoffman. You can make a request to the DA, but it is very unlikely that they will waive the fees.

No. Pay them now or they continue to mount up.
