Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was arrested for felony weapon charge my court date is on the 25th of October, I feel like I'm at a loss, I have no priors or ever been arrested, I had a collapsible baton in my car that I didn't know about because I hadn't been driving the car in a couple months
