Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was arrested not long ago for brandishing a firearm replica while in my apartment. This is the first time it's happened. I don't have any prior. I'm going to court tomorrow to enter plea. I don't want to have any record. What should I plea? I live in California.

Because of the five-day delay on this site, you presumably have already been to court. Hopefully you had a lawyer with you. Since you probably didn't, I hope the court either assigned you a public defender if you can't afford a lawyer or gave you time to get one if you can.

Do not try to represent yourself. And if you are somehow forced to enter a plea before you have a lawyer, plead not guilty and *then* get a lawyer.

Good luck.

What should you plead? Well, if you plead guilty, you will be convicted and sentenced to whatever jail and penalties the court chooses. Since you don't know how to handle this, I suggest you hire an attorney that does. You may have defenses that your attorney can use in motions, plea bargaining or at trial. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so; I been defending people in these kinds of cases for over 30 years.
