Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was arrested last month and I'm currently out on OR. I'm being charged with Embezzlemt(37k) and 5 identity theft. I had made an agreement with the employer to make payments and they said they wouldn't file charges against me and they did. I've already pd back 13k, been making payments for 14 months. What will happen at the arraignment? Can I go to jail? It's my first offense. do the identity theft victims go? If they do do they speak? I'm in Ca. I have a public defender can I ask for more time to get an attorney at the arraignment? I have 3 children.

At the arrignment, you will have an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty, or ask for more time in order to get a private lawyer. You will not go to jail. As long as you make all your court appearances, you will remain on your OR release. Chances are the victims will not be there, but they may be. It's open to the public, and they are members of the public. If they are there, they won't speak. The arraignment is only about entering a plea, which will be "not guitly." If you'd like to speak to me about this case, please don't hesitate to call me. Good luck. Steve Mandell 310 393 0639
