Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was arrested and released on 49B1 but recently I received a letter stating I have to go back to court. Why is that if I was not charged with anything

The decision to release you does not mean you won't be charged. Whether to bring charges is up to the prosecutor, not the police. She can charge someone who wasn't arrested at all, and she can also charge someone who was arrested and then released. Based on the limited info you've given us, it sounds like you've been charged. There are other possible explanations, though. You should consult with some criminal defense attorneys before your court date to learn more about your status and your rights.

Good luck.

You ARE charged with something now. Follow common sense advice to get an attorney if you don't know how to handle this yourself.
