Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was arrested in 2008 while staying away from home in Northern California. My booking detail sheet is available with my original charges and mugshot for everyone in the public to see if they type my name into Google. This has prevented me from getting jobs. When I have called the sheriff department, I have been told there is nothing I can do to have this taken down. Is this true?

Depends upon what they are actually providing to the 'public'. Your arrest is part of your DOJ record and rap sheet, forever. Some of your identity info can be put on display; many police departments publish in the newspaper the names of all arrested people, with the charges listed. You should consult with an attorney in that city, to determine what is actually published, and what he can offer you.
