Re: assulting a police officer

There are several charges for "assault" on a peace officer, depending on if the officer was injured or not.

You could face up to a year in county jail if convicted. What you might get depends on the facts of the case, any record you have and the judge.

I practice in Orange County and know the court system well here. Let me know if you're interested in discussing representation.

Re: assulting a police officer

The charge you mention is a crime of violence and is not good to have on your record the rest of your life. As a misdemeanor it holds from no time to 1 year in county jail. You should seek legal counsel and get some feedback as to what a truely qualified attorney can do for you. Up to a year on any misdemeanor. What happens in your case will depend upon the actual charge[s] filed against you, the facts and evidence available in your defense, your rap sheet and record, your attorney, the DA, the judge, and whether well they can cut a 'deal' you are willing to accept to avoid going to trial. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting that legal help; I've been doing these cases for many years.
