Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

ATM Fraud

This is in san bernardino county california. Okay so, about a week or so ago the county sheriff's dept served a search warrant at my grandmother's house (where I live). My computer and various other pieces of electronic equipment were taken, and I was arrested.

I am being accused of rewriting the mag-stripe data of ordinary walmart giftcards and using them to pull money out of atm's. The amount of money they are alleging I took is in the $15k-20k range.

Currently I am being charged with violating PC484(g) but that may change before the first court date. I spent 3 days in jail before I was released on my own recognizance.

What I would like to know is, what type of sentence am I facing?

Also, I do not want to have to rely on a public defender, but I do not have much money, what are my options?

Thank You.

Re: ATM Fraud

Pay a private attorney what he asks, or use the Public Defender, your choice. You face felony prison time.
