Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Auto Dialers in Ca
I use to work with a company that use auto dialers to call all person to tell them that this is there 2 nd and final warning about there warranty to include something about mortgages. Now these dialers call anything from 911 trunk lines to any number of lines you name it. Let's not forget about hospital emergency lines. They also call all cell numbers. Even the ones that are on the National Do not call list. They just load the data up and go. Once they get these people on the phone they sell them worthless warranty's that over the last six months I have only seen one claim approved. Think of this, they call in the day time when the elderly are home or people on fixed income are there and sell them that is worth nothing, even alzheimer patients. They just don't care. The funning thing about it is that when they try and cancel within 30 days they charge them an administrative fee when the contract say they are entitled to a full refund. There really is nothing funny about this and I need to know what can be done to stop them. WHAT CAN BE DONE?

Re: Auto Dialers in Ca
Report the company to the local Police and District Attorney, CA Attorney General, CA Public Utilities Commission, Dept of Consumer Protection, various other government agencies. Be creative in your use of the government section of the phone book. Contact the local TV and radio stations.
Attorneys would be happy to get the defrauded customers as clients, since attorneys can bring legal action against the company for what amounts to consumer fraud. Feel free to contact me or refer anyone to me if they are serious about taking action.
