Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was not aware the seller of a vehicle is responsible for the smog certificate. I purchased a vehicle from a private party. The car won't pass smog. Illegal air cleaner. I started the title transfer before I learned about the "smog thing". Registration is due at the end of the month. I now have a vehicle I can't smog and I refuse to pay the registration. Can I sue the guy for selling me an illegal vehicle?
