Background checks

Is there anything I can do to hide a misdameaner? About 15

years ago I committed a petty theft,did community service and completed everything the court asked. Is there anything

I can do so when a background check is done this doesn't show up

This procedure is routinely done by the probation department in many counties. There is a minimal charge for this service. Before expunging the charge be sure that is was charged as a misdemeanor rather than a felony. If it is a felony have it reduced to a misdemeanor under penal code section 17 prior to having it expunged.
