bail and appearing in court
i am on bail pending my first court appearance on june 26th. I do not want to appear the first day,would like to find out what i am to be charged with first. can i hire an attorney to appear for me.

Of course you can hire an attorney to make your appearances, as long as it is a misdemeanor, not a felony, you are charged with. You were given a charging sheet when released from jail, or received a letter from the DA, telling you the charges and when you you had to go to court. Yes, an attorney could investigate your case prior to filing any charges, very often a very good idea. He/she can also appear in court without if your case is a misdemeanor. You have to be present at hearings if felony charges are involved.
