Re: Can bail be revoked?

I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Nelson. You can rescind your surety. Send notice to the bail bondsman that you intend to revoke your surety. Go to court on her next court date and tell the judge that you wish to do this. If you have trouble, an attorney can assist you with filing a notice for you (an interpleader) with the court. I have done this before. It's pretty simple. I was successful---twice. If you need assistance, contact me directly, or call around to local criminal defense attorneys. First, however, you should try working with the bondsman. If he or she is ethical, it should be fairly easy.

Re: Can bail be revoked?

Tell the bondsman that she has disappeared and that you want the bail revoked. Your father will have to pay the remainder of the bail bond fee. If I were you I would not wait, but would contact the bail bond agent immediately and request that the bond be revoked and that she be taken into custody and turned over to the sherrif or local department of corrections. The bondsman will know where to take her. Provide the bondsman all of the information you can about where she might be. Also check with friends and family as to her whereabouts. If the bond is forfieted the bail bond will be after you and your father for the full amount of the bond.

Re: Can bail be revoked?

No. Once bail is posted, it is at risk until the end of the criminal process.

Re: Can bail be revoked?

If this person has failed to appear in her case then her bail could get revoked. If this happens contact me, I know a great investigator who could track her down very fast.
