battery charge

I have a misdameanor battery charge on my record from 15 years ago. I got into a verbal argument with the neighbor, and they charged us both with ''battery''. can I get this off of my record and why was it battery, since it was only verbal??

You could "expunge" this conviction under Penal Code Section 1203.4. Most attorneys would handle this matter for a modest fee. Alternatively, you could do it yourself. Your first step would be to contact the clerk at the court where you were convicted.

You've been charged. You have to avoid conviction on the charges in order to keep it off your record. If this is in SoCal courts, and you're serious about getting counsel, feel free to contact me. You should consider trying to get the earlier conviction expunged off your record asap. Contact me about that as well.

I can't explain how you got a battery if there was absolutely no touching, but that was between you & your attorney back then.

You can seek an expungement to get it cleared up though. Contact a local criminal defense attorney to discuss it.
