Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I called the cops because my child's father was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and did not want to leave my house. When they came they had seen that my lip was busted. The night before, a really good friend of the family had passed away and his sister had been at my house when she heard the news. She was screaming in the front yard and her other brother and cousin were outside of my house at the time with my door open. My daughters father was called since his friends happen to live across the street. He thought something was happening to myself and my daughter and rushed in. I had been lying down half asleep in the room, when I heard all the comotion, I jumped up and went to run outside, my daughters father happened to be running in from around the corner and hit me. I have been with this man for the last 10 years and he has never placed a finger on myself. I honestly feel this was a mistake. Since the cops arrested him he is in jail on charges PC 273.5 A and he is on parole. What can I do?

Hire him an attorney, you can do nothing yourself. It is police and DA policy to vigorously prosecute abuse, over the objection of the victim, as too many are intimidated into recanting and pleading for mercy for the abuser. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
