Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My car was impounded and is being held by police when the person I loaned it to was arrested while drivivg it.Can I show proof of ownership and get it back before having to pay a fortune in fees. I live in lancaster,ca.

No. You will have to pay the impound fees, and do so asap before the bill runs higher than the car is worth.

You need to contact the law enforcement agency holding the car, and find out what you need to do to get the car released to you. It should be released to the registered owner, unless it is being held for evidence.
