Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

When is a ''Case Dismissed''

I was convicted of a misdeameanor/PoolSelling/Offense Code #337A/1PC, Long Beach,CA in June 1997. I payed a fine and served 3 years probation. Am now applying for a Sentri Pass with US Government. They have denied my application but I can re-submit. Can I say on application ''Case Dismissed''?

Re: When is a ''Case Dismissed''

If you want to lie and risk a perjury charge, sure. The case wasn't dismissed. It may be possible to get the conviction expunged, which will allow you in future to say NO to convictions on private employment applications, but not on govt licensing and related applications like this. It won't help you in this situation, but may in future. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing so.

No. Your case ended in a judgment and was not dismissed. You seem to think all cases are dismissed eventually, but that is not how it works.
