How do I obtain a certificate of rehabilitation for a section 288 that was commited in 1978 with my high school sweetheart age 16?

Re: certificate of rehabilitation

PC 288 can NOT be expunged. You are probably correct that a Certificate of Rehabilitation is your best shot at cleaning up your record somewhat. It is done by filing an Application and supporting documents and declarations with the sentencing court, serving the prosecutor with notice of the application and hearing. If you've since conviction been an upstanding citizen, you have a chance of success [no guarantees]. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting legal help doing this.

Certificate of rehabilitation is possible in your case and you probably have a decent shot at it given the long passage of time since your offense, assuming you have not been convicted of anything since 1978.

Certificate requires an application/motion which should be put together by a lawyer and argued in court. Essentially, it involved putting together lots of different documentation supporting your good moral character and the fact of your rehabilitation.
