Charged with pc496(a) & pc32- help
I was recently arrested for pc496(a) .. a hired worker of mine apparently stashed a stolen gun in my garage. I knew he occasionally left stuff in my garage (he borrowed tools from me etc) I had NO idea this gun was stolen (he told me it was his dads) .. they are charging me with pc496a and pc32. my lawyer is awful, no communication. Ive NEVER been in trouble before, im 34 years old. Any advice on if I can beat these charges?

"Beat these charges"? Every defendant would love to have a magic incantation that would do so. Hire a different, better, lawyer and cooperate with him in your defense.

Advice? If you and your attorney aren't on the same page and you're not feeling confident about their ability, dedication or ability, it's time to hire a new lawyer ASAP.
They're trying to saddle you with two felonies on (what you describe as) flimsy evidence.
Have a heart-to-heart with your lawyer and if nothing changes, there's no harm in finding a new lawyer.

If your lawyer is awful, you need to get another lawyer. You will not be able to beat the charges yourself. Representing yourself is always a bad idea.
The obvious defense would be to tie the gun to the hired worker, if possible. And/or to convince the DA that based on your character, lack of prior record, etc. it is highly improbable that you stole or even knew anything about the gun.
