if u spend 3days in jail and they let you go without being charged can they charge u at a later date

Yes they can. You need to stay on top of the situation and monitor whether any charges will be filed. Often, the prosecution files charges without notifying the defendant which results in an arrest warrant and a mess. Make sure it does not happen. Also, consider hiring a lawyer now in order to intervene in any ongoing investigation and perhaps to nip it in the bud.
