Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Check Fraud
My sister was writing checks on my fathers account and forging his signature. Some payable to her for totaling over $23,000. He didn't realize this and passed away last week. Is there anything that can be done to her? She is also named executor of his estate.

Re: Check Fraud
File a theft complaint with the police, and file a claim and/or contest in the probate court proceedings. If the case is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need.
Re: Check Fraud
You can confront her about it and demand the 23K or be taken out of her share of the estate or she can be prosecuted.
Re: Check Fraud
Where (what state) did your dad live? Did your sister have power of attorney over him, or was the account a joint account with her?
