Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hi as a citizen who is a victim of a crime, aren't the police supposed to take a report? I've had almost a million in assets stolen from me by some professional people and one of the defendants is married to one of the sheriff's. I believe this is reason I can't file a report. Isn't it my right to file complaint?if police won't take a report I can't get a court date. What can I do?

You should be 'insistent' about filing a report and requesting prosecution. Write a letter to the chief of the local police. If the local police won't do so, then try contacting and seek help from the the local county sheriff, DA office and Attorney General office to complain about the crime and police. This assumes you have at least some credible evidence to support your claims.
