Clean up crminal record

I am hoping someone can help me out here.I recently looked at my criminal records and noticed that someone has actually been arrested under my name went to court etc. etc..Even though it wasn't me who committed this crime I have to suffer with having this crime on my record giving people a very bad impression can you please tell me how to solve this matter and finally (its been about 5 yrs it been on there)clean up my record.
