Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

if you are a conficetd felon and probation is over since 12/98 I had sold a shot gun to a pawn shop in 2008 for the money and i needed the moneybecause i was unemployed The Da is now 11/09 filing charges of possesion of a firearm . Vilolation date was 8-8-08 and tha Da stated a letter was sent to notify of the araignment I never received this information when a company I was applying for did a backgroung check and this case came up and since the araignment occured on12/17/09 an arrest warrant was not issued it was set aside for review. What can I expected as far as the outcome
