What consequences come with a domestic violence retraining order?

The only reason someone applies for a restraining order is to have the restrained person arrested for violating it. It is very important to defend the restraining order petition before it is granted. Prudent people retain lawyers. If the petition is granted, you would also lose the right to own or possess firearms for the duration of the order (usually three years).
The consequences are explained in the order, which is a mandatory form. You need to read the order, and follow all of the orders that have boxes that the judge checked.
Essentially the same as a felony conviction: state and federal ban on firearms ownership, a hard time getting employment, etc. Read your RO for specifics of your order.
