Re: consiracy charge

You can ask for anything you like. Just don't expect that to happen. The police and DA didn't file charges against your just to drop them 'just because'. You need a criminal defense attorney. If you can't afford to hire private counsel, apply for the public defender.

You can request that the District Attorney drop charges anytime you want. The real question is whether the DA will do so. If charges were filed, I would tend to doubt that the DA would just dismiss the case on your word. You need to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney. If you cannot afford to hire one, the court will appoint a public defender to represent you. Talk to your attorney and give them all information that relates to your defense. Your attorney may be able to help convince the DA that there's a viable defense against the charges, and also to dismiss the case. I would advise against you contacting the DA yourself. Anything you do say can and will be held against you. It is always best to have your attorney speak to the DA on your behalf!
