Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
No contest plea
My friend was arrested for being drunk in public about 15 years ago. Actually he was in front of his own house. He pleaded no contest in the court and was let go without any fine or probation etc. Does this stay on his record , if yes can it be taken off the record.
Thanks

Re: No contest plea
Yes, it is on the record as an arrest, and if he was charged and convicted in court, that is on the record. Such a conviction can be 'expunged' from the record, so that he does not have to disclose it on job applications. If interested in getting it off his record, feel free to contact me to discuss the facts and costs.
