Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

no controled substance found
recently my boyfreind was served with a search warrent for sale of meth but the only thing they found was about 4oz of marijauna for which he has a prescription he was arrested i bailed him out but when we went to his first court date we found out that he is being charged with 2 trans/sales of a controled substance and marijauna for sale so i guess my ? is what can we do besides getting a lawyer to fight this
