Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
conviction disclosures
I have a criminal record which continues to keep me from getting a new job. I would like to know how far back do I have to disclose that I have a felony conviction. Ex. If it is over 13 years ago. do I still have to disclose it? Also, I would like to know if I had a felony expunged whom do I have to disclose that info. to, when applying for a job? I am under the impression I only have to disclose expungements to federal or State Jobs. Do I have to tell a group home about the felony if it was expunged?. One more thing does a California State Exemption apply forever or just for the job I received an exemption for?

Re: conviction disclosures
IF you could get the felony expunged, then you must disclose the conviction on any government agency applications, security clearance, licensing, etc. Generally, such applications will say that expungements must be disclosed. Private employers can be told 'no' to convictions upon expungement.
If interested in trying to get expungement, contact me to discuss proceedure and costs.
