Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
can I become a correctional officer after 5 years of my arrest
when I was 19, I made some bad decisions that got me arrested for marijuana(4 ounces). Its been 5 years now and I would like to become a correction officer but the only thing holding me back is my Felony conviction. Is there anything I can do in order for me to become a correctional officer?

You'll have to apply and try to convince them you've turned your life around. You can possibly get the conviction expunged, but still must disclose it on any application for govt employment or licensing or background checks. Expungement would help you with private employment, allowing you to say 'no' to convictions. Contact me if you want to do it.
