Its difficult to fully understand the facts, but it looks like you wrote some checks with NSF, but it's not clear if you knew the account didn't have the funds, when you wrote the checks. Also, it's not clear whether to already pled guilty. If you haven't already resolved the case, you should speak at length to an experienced attorney about all the facts, so you can get the counsel you need. As a Former Deputy District Attorney and a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, my office has handled 100's of 470PC and 476PC cases, over the past 20 years. These cases can be tricky, so speak with a lawyer you trust to be able to deal with these issues. I wish you well............David

The issue is that you face criminal charges for writing bad checks. Trying to pay them back will not get the charges dropped, except as part of a plea bargain with the prosecutor, which your attorney will try to negotiate. He will try to use your defense that someone owed you money and didn't pay you, but that is not a 'legal defense' to the charges, only a sympathy issue.

You obviously need to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney to represent you in this. If serious about doing so to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help fight and get the best outcome possible, using whatever defenses and sympathies there may be.
